American Perspectives

The Lost Generation

M any American writers that happened to spend adulthood in Paris during the 1920's were known as "The Lost Generation", a name given by Gertrude Stein. Some of the writers that belong to this generation are Ernest Hemingway, F.Scott Fitzgerald, or John Dos Santos.

Woody Allen's movie "Midnight in Paris" makes a good use of this generation as we can see in the following videos:


 



             I really like "Midnight in Paris" because, as we can see in the second video which is the intro to the movie,  we can clearly see what Paris is about, for example, visiting museums, art, culture, etc. and I guess this is what The Lost Generation's adulthood was about. I really recommend watching this movie to someone that hasn't gone to Paris.
